The international financial magazine Global Finance today presented Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković with an award in Bangkok in recognition of her A- rating, one of the highest ratings in the Central Banker Report Cards 2026. The ceremony was held during the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group.
On 8 September, Global Finance announced the names of central bank governors who received the highest ratings: A+, A or A–.
“This recognition belongs to the National Bank of Serbia and to all those who safeguard stability through their expertise, responsibility and dedication. It is particularly significant that it is being presented at a gathering that brings together central bankers from around the world and is based on criteria that apply equally to all. Behind this rating lie inflation within the target range, relative stability of the dinar against the euro, record-high FX reserves and the resilience of the banking sector, which we have secured and maintained. However, stability cannot be taken for granted, which is why we continue to work every day to safeguard it”, said Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković.
“Central bank governors face a complex balancing act, navigating persistent inflation pressures, uncertain growth, and rapidly changing economic conditions, while maintaining the confidence of markets and the public”, said Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo. “Global Finance’s A grade central bank governors are leaders who have demonstrated the discipline, independence, and sound judgment needed to deliver stability while guiding their economies through an always unpredictable global environment.”
Ratings in the Central Banker Report Cards are assigned on a scale from A+ to F, based on performance in controlling inflation, achieving economic growth targets, maintaining currency stability, managing interest rates and safeguarding political independence.
Founded in 1987 as a monthly financial magazine, Global Finance has been publishing its Central Banker Report Cards since 1994. The report assesses central bank governors from nearly 100 countries, territories and jurisdictions, as
