New service for instant payment users

In cooperation with participants in the NBS IPS system, the NBS has introduced a standard for the use of deep link technology within the “Transfer” service. Accordingly, payment service providers have upgraded their mobile banking applications, enabling the payment initiation process via the “Transfer” service to be launched from third-party applications or other solutions as well.

Viber is the first company to offer a service to its users based on this standard, through the PayChat chatbot. The PayChat service enables users, through the exchange of messages within the Viber application, to send a request to another user to receive funds or initiate a money transfer to a payee, using only a mobile phone number.

Importantly, transactions initiated through this service are executed within the secure environment of the mobile banking application and the “Transfer” service, while communication between the payer and the payee takes place within the Viber application.

The solution implemented within the Viber application provides a concrete example of how the new standard can be applied. At the same time, the standard provides a basis for the development of other innovative solutions tailored to different digital channels and the everyday needs of individuals and businesses. In this way, the NBS continues to enhance the national instant payment infrastructure and create conditions for the development of new services, while maintaining their security and reliability.
