After Montenegro’s Secession from State Union Serbia Inherits Membership of International Organizations

The National Bank of Serbia reiterates that provisions of the Belgrade Agreement and the Constitutional
Charter of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro stipulate that the member country that uses the right
to withdrawal does not inherit the right to international legal subjectivity.

The Republic of Serbia therefore inherits membership of the United Nations and all financial and other
international organizations whose fully-fledged member Serbia and Montenegro was. It is noteworthy that
funds for the payment of membership share or quota in these organizations have so far been provided
from the budget of the Republic of Serbia.

The proposal of the manner of division of financial rights and responsibilities between Serbia and
Montenegro will be made by the Commission of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Representatives of the National Bank of Serbia will participate in the work of the Commission.
