Online purchases in Serbia continued to grow in Q2 2026, with a significant increase in the number of card-based and e-money payments. In Q2 2026, a total of 34.2 mn online purchases were made, up by 28.5% y-o-y. Of this number, 24.45 mn payments were made in dinars, confirming the continued growth in online purchases in the domestic currency and in the domestic market, while 9.75 mn transactions were carried out on foreign websites.
Transactions denominated in dinars, euros and US dollars accounted for 98.1% of all online purchases in Q2 2026. The number of purchases made in dinars increased by 30.8%, up from 18.7 mn to 24.5 mn, while their total value grew by 34.9%, from RSD 56.5 bn to RSD 76.3 bn. As regards purchases made on foreign websites, compared with Q2 2025, the number of payments in euros increased by 34.7%, from 5.7 mn to 7.7 mn, while their value rose by 23.8%, from EUR 261.8 mn to EUR 324.2 mn. At the same time, the number of online purchases denominated in US dollars decreased by 16.0%, from 1.7 mn to 1.4 mn, while their total value was up by 11.2%, from USD 60.9 mn to USD 67.7 mn compared with Q2 2025.
Of all online purchases made in Q2 2026, more than two-thirds (71.5%) were executed in the domestic currency. In line with this trend, the number of domestic online stores increased to 6,278 at end-June 2026, up by 21.4% from end-Q2 2025 (5,171).
