Information for buyers and contact

The NBS sells numismatic money and commercial sets of circulating coins to domestic and foreign natural persons and domestic legal persons, at the counters of the NBS head office and branches in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Niš and Užice.

Domestic and foreign natural person buyers get from the NBS’s cashier a payment order for numismatic money and commercial sets of circulating coins they wish to buy, and make the payment in a commercial bank. They take over the numismatic money and coin sets based on evidence of payment, on business days from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm in the NBS head office and from 8.30 am to 3 pm in NBS branches. The NBS issues invoice for the numismatic money and commercial sets of circulating coins purchased.

Numismatic money and commercial packs of circulating coins can be purchased via e-banking by supplying the following data:

  • Payer: Name, surname, address
  • Purpose of payment: Purchase of numismatic money
  • Recipient: National Bank of Serbia, Kralja Petra 12, Belgrade
  • Ref. code: 289
  • Amount: RSD _ _ _ _ _ _ 
  • Recipient’s account: 980-707-49
  • Reference number: _ _ _ _ _ _ citizen personal ID number.

The buyer can get the reference number from the employee selling packs of coins by calling some of NBS points-of-sale.

If you give a payment order to your payment service provider to execute the transaction as an instant payment transaction in the NBS IPS, funds will be transfered to the NBS account within a few seconds. If you do not wish to make an instant payment, your payment service provider must ensure that the amount of the payment transaction be credited to the NBS account until the end of the same business day when the provider received your payment order.

The buyer can take the coins once the payment is credited to the NBS account.

The buyer can obtain all necessary information before and after the e-payment from employees at some NBS points-of-sale, as stated on the NBS website.

Foreign buyers – natural persons can claim a VAT refund within six months from the day of invoice issuing if the value of the purchase (plus VAT) stated on the Form ZPPDV a traveller’s request for VAT refund must be equal or higher than RSD 6,000. Buyers natural persons from abroad may make VAT refund within 12 months from the day of the dispatch of goods abroad.

Domestic legal person buyers submit a request for the purchase of numismatic money and commercial sets of circulating coins to the NBS Cash Department or a relevant NBS branch. The request must specify the type of issue, code of the set and quantity of money, and key information about the buyer (name, address, registration number, tax ID number and telephone/fax/email). The NBS issues against this request a “notification” based on which the buyer makes the payment. After submitting evidence of payment, a person authorised by the buyer may take over numismatic money and commercial sets of circulating coins at the counter of the selling place where the numismatic money and coin sets were ordered, on business days from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm in the NBS head office and from 8.30 am to 3 pm in NBS branches. The NBS issues invoice for the purchases made by domestic legal person buyers.

Legal person buyers get a receipt from the NBS for purchased numismatic money and coin sets.
