Stable growth in digital banking instruments

Stable growth in the number of digital banking instrument users continued in Q1 2025, reflecting the positive perennial trend of digitalisation in the financial sector. According to data of payment service providers, 4,840,503 users registered for the mobile banking service by end-March this year, an increase by 15.8% relative to the same period of 2024. The number of electronic banking users reached 4,790,013, up by 15.1% from Q1 2024.

A total of 61.9 million payments were made in Serbia using mobile and electronic banking, a growth of 5.9% relative to the same period last year. Mobile banking contributed the most to this growth, as the number of m-banking payments rose by as much as 25.4% from Q1 2024 – from 24.5 to 30.7 million. The use of electronic banking declined, with the number of payments falling by 8.1% from 33.9 to 31.2 million.
