Inflation movements in September

According to SORS data, y-o-y inflation stayed stable, measuring 1.8% in September, which is in line with NBS expectations and close to the August level.

In monthly terms, consumer prices edged down 0.5% in September, driven mainly by the seasonally lower prices of travel packages and cheaper vegetables.

Core inflation (CPI excluding the prices of food, energy, alcohol and cigarettes) remained stable, at 1.7% y-o-y in September.
Under the NBS central projection, y-o-y inflation will stay low and stable in the coming period.
