Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (е-GDDS)

The Republic of Serbia has been a member of the General Data Dissemination System (GDDS) of the IMF since May 2009, i.e. of the Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (е-GDDS) since May 2015.

The e-GDDS replaced and succeeded the GDDS and is a structured system designed to improve the quality and dissemination of data in the areas of economic, financial and socio-demographic statistics of the IMF member countries. The e-GDDS is the basis for attaining higher statistical standards of data dissemination (SDDS and SDDS+).

In the e-GDDS, IMF member countries publish metadata, i.e. systematic and descriptive information on the contents and organisation of data, and on the concept, sources and collection and processing methods. Sets of metadata are divided into the following categories:

  • real sector (national accounts, prices, production, labour market),
  • fiscal sector,
  • financial sector,
  • external sector,
  • socio-demographic data (population, health, education, poverty).

The National Summary Data Page – NSDP for the Republic of Serbia was developed as a joint effort of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (SORS), NBS, Ministry of Finance and Belgrade Stock Exchange within the e-GDDS. It is on the SORS website. The page applies standardised Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange – SDMX, as a unique means for publication of the main macroeconomic and financial data of the Republic of Serbia.

Serbia’s presentation in the e-GDDS and National Summary Data Page (NSDP) is available in the IMF Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board – DSBB and on the SORS website:
